Axiosun sets up a power plant in Marrakech (Morocco)

Axiosun has just received the agreement of the FASEP Committee* (French Support Fund for the Private Sector) to set up a low concentration photovoltaic power plant in Marrakech. The project, supported by Schneider Electric and Veolia Environnement, will start in October 2011 with the aim of highlighting the performance of low concentration technology in a favourable environment. The installation of this power plant, which will take place at the beginning of 2012, is a real showcase that will help Axiosun to start deploying overseas.*

* Fasep Etudes aims to provide support to development projects in emerging countries.

Axiosun sets up the first low concentration solar power plant in southern Europe

In July 2010 the Axiosun company won the PACA Labs competition (supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Regional Council) which is designed to help experiments in innovation projects. The project consists of connecting the first low concentration photovoltaic power plant (and characterising its performance in real time) to a wastewater treatment plant. Axiosun has just finished setting up this solar power plant in the community of Saint-Cannat, situated close to Aix-en-Provence in the Bouches du Rhône region, which is a first in France.

Axiosun wins the CLASSEXPORT competition

Axiosun has won the CLASSEXPORT prize that rewards 4 companies that have strong export potential for 2011/2012. This is a strong sign for solar energy and innovation in this area. In fact, Axiosun is arousing great interest outside France thanks to its economic model based on technology transfer and setting up micro-factories very close to installations. Overseas expansion lies at the heart of company strategy which wants to see the emergence of low concentration solar power plants not just on the contours of the Mediterranean but also in other regions across the world that benefit from strong sunlight. Axiosun expects to be present on all four continents by 2016.
