Axiosun’s product range means that it is possible to have solutions that are cheaper than standard panels.

Axiosun’s goal is to offer photovoltaic solutions that are competitive in terms of cost/€/KWh/produced. This goal is made possible thanks to solar concentration technology and the way that Axiosun has chosen to put it into practice.

The following reasons explain the difference in cost:

Concentration systems use less silicon to produce the same amount of energy compared to standard photovoltaic panels. As silicon represents the largest expenditure item in PV systems, reducing its use contributes directly to a reduction in cost.

The silicon surface area used by an Axiosun panel is reduced by a factor of 10 compared to a standard panel. This means that it is less dependent on fluctuations in the silicon market, which is extremely volatile.

The ability to upgrade our solutions will increase the performance of power plants by around 40% as and when upgrades are installed. This will have a strong impact on the €/kWh cost over the life time of the plant.

Thanks to a manufacturing process that requires only a small investment, Axiosun’s solution can be constructed locally. This contributes to reducing production costs as well as expenses associated with logistics, customs, etc.

In areas of strong DNI, Axiosun offers a solution that is 20% less expensive than a standard panel. In addition, our work on increasing cell efficiency means that they will be 40% less expensive by 2015.
