Photovoltaic technologies are going to continue to evolve in the years to come.

The promise of increased cell efficiency will make it possible to offer solutions that will produce greater amounts of energy without the extra expense of the new cells burdening the cost.

It is reasonable to expect that within the next five years we will have cells that have an efficiency rate of more than 25%.

Axiosun has designed a solution that takes future technological improvements into account.

 

Based on new technological advances, the aim is to be able to replace existing modules with “new generation” components that will be even more efficient.

The Axiosun solution consists of changing the modules of the panels with a « plug and play » system, thus offering the customer the possibility of upgrading the panels’ performance.

 

 

All this is possible because with Axiosun’s solar concentration system only the module (1.25 m x 10 cm) needs to be changed; the original structure, which represents more than 70% of the overall cost, is kept in place. This principle of upgradeability is not an option with standard PV modules as they represent 90% of the price of the panel.

As our upgradeable solution means that only a part of the system is changed, the customer can increase the performance of power plants by around 40% as and when they decide to update.

In practice, a 25% increase in cell efficiency makes it possible to achieve a higher growth in the performance of the overall system thanks to the concentration effect.
