The AX203, a dedicated product
We have designed a high efficiency, low concentration solution for energy operators.
The AX203 is a unique product on the photovoltaic panel market. It has been specifically designed for sun-rich countries. The component parts were all created by our engineers with the aim of:
- optimising daily energy efficiency,
- simplifying implementation and maintenance,
- facilitating the updating of modules and increasing the performance of the power plant.
Based on proven technologies, Axiosun’s patented architecture supplies the very highest levels of performance and reliability at a low cost.
Each AX203 panel is composed of three main parts:
- the structure and uniaxial tracker,
- the reflectors,
- the photovoltaic modules.
The AX203 incorporates a uniaxial tracker which follows the rotation of the sun from east to west throughout the day and pivots over 170°. The Axiosun Tracker is powered by an electrical actuator connected to an astronomical clock. This device is placed in “safe” mode when the wind speed exceeds a pre-programmed limit.
Axiosun’s reflectors consist of high-reflectivity parabolic mirrors that concentrate the light of the sun by a factor of 20 uniformly on the modules.
Due to solar concentration factors, the AX203 photovoltaic modules are small in size (1,250mm x 100mm) but with a production equivalent to traditional panels. The AX203 module has been specially designed for concentrated solar technology. It is manufactured according to a procedure developed by the Axiosun company in order to meet the aging and temperature constraints that are specific to medium solar concentration (Standard IEC 62108). This module incorporates a concentration cell developed by Axiosun which has an excellent efficiency rate of 19% when subjected to concentrations.
Axiosun has developed special cells that have a high efficiency rate (19%) when concentrated. This graph shows that, when subjected to concentrations, the Axiosun cell has a high efficiency rate whilst the efficiency of a standard cell plummets.
