A new generation cell

The cell is an electronic component that, when exposed to light, produces electricity thanks to the photovoltaic effect.

Concentration systems induce large rises in temperature in the cells. However, the rise in temperature of a photovoltaic cell directly impacts on its efficiency. As a result, we have designed special cells using optimised single-crystal silicon that are able to withstand the concentration of light rays. In parallel we have developed cooling and thermal dissipation systems to evacuate the excessive heat that is detrimental to the efficiency of the cells and especially to their service life. These take the form of radiators or materials with a high dissipation coefficient. The cell is then assembled with other identical cells and encapsulated in a « module » ideally adapted to the concentration.

Concentration module

The module is the rigid surface that houses and protects the cell assembly.

A photovoltaic solar module (or photovoltaic solar panel) is a DC electric generator that consists of a collection of photovoltaic cells that are connected to each other electronically. We have designed a solar concentration module that, like a standard photovoltaic module, includes a certain number of superimposed layers of material incorporating the cells. This innovative module is ideally adapted to our low concentration system.
